After visiting the town of Leh in a remote region of the Himalayas a small group of friends decided to help the local school and build a new hostel to accommodate 150-200 boys. Their charity “Children in Lankha” raised the money required and completed the building works in September 2009.
The school proved to be a great success and it has moved on from providing to shelter to more conventional functions. DATUM have provided funds towards shelves, tables, and chairs to fit out of the library.
The works to this, and a new science laboratory, were successfully completed in July 2013 and opened by His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
