The Middle School serves the villages of Abene, Albadar and Colomba in the region of Casamance - it was probably one of the poorest equipped senior schools in Senegal.
Deanne Amar, in Senegal, contacted DATUM and identifying another school requiring assistance. The school serves the villages of Abene, Albadar and Colomba in the region of Casamance. Deanne states that it is probably the poorest equipped senior school that she’s seen. The school currently has 447 children: 227 boys and 220 girls. Two of the classrooms have now been refurbished.
DATUM supplied funding to complete one of them. The works included – new metal doors and windows. A sheet aluminum roof and concrete floor to the classroom
Walls both internal and external were rendered and decorated.
Deanne oversaw the project and works were successfully completed in January 2016. DATUM has already approved funds for refurbishment of another classroom.
