Urgent improvements to a local village school in Ndongane, Senegal
We were contacted by a friend of DATUM, Deanne Amar, who was helping teach at the school in the local village school in Ndongane, that it was in urgent need of improvement. Following a visit in 2010 DATUM undertook a range of works including new concrete floors and the installation of ceilings. The whole building, inside and out, was decorated in bright colours and new furniture replaced the old benches.
When work was complete the local were able to study in a much-improved environment. And with the help of local villagers we helped to dig a well and provide access to clean water for the first time.
